Kelly Gorder Well & Good Health Life Work

Meaningful change takes time.

Hello & Happy Fall!

This time of year is always one of my favorites.  Having just moved to Bozeman, Montana, I’ve been doing a lot of exploring the last few weeks:  dog walks, hikes, new neighborhoods.  I can’t help but find parallels with the leaves changing and all I’ve learned about how we, as humans, change.

In fact, the trees are getting ready for their Fall amazingness from the time they bud in the Spring, and throughout the Summer.  The moisture, temperature, and daylight all impact how the leaves will change.  On the outside, we take it for granted and enjoy the view.  On the inside, it’s been a months-long chemistry experiment for the tree.

People change in much the same way, and that change can also take time.  Alongside external influences, we can use our internal strengths and tools to conduct our own experiments, learn and end up with new textures and hues making our lives more interesting and beautiful.  But, this kind of lasting, meaningful change, often shows only after a season of work.  In coaching, we celebrate not only the change, but the process of getting there.

The next few months of Wellness Wednesdays will set us up with a stronger foundation for change as we round the corner through the Holidays and into the New Year.  (Yes, 2023 is only a little over 2 month away!) If you or someone you know is looking to make some changes, and have them stick, now is a great time to start building the tools and perspective needed to get into action mode once the New Year hits:
* Learning how lasting habits form (hint:  it’s not just because you decide on a resolution on January 1st)
* Developing a mindset to show up in service to YOUR needs and goals this Holiday season
* Purging what no longer serves you and making space for a new chapter
